The development period of clustered pewter is from fruit setting to pewter maturity and fall off. Generally observe the following two periods:
The best period of growth and maturity of cluster pewter
(1) Fruit maturity, the period when most of the white wax on the tree has matured. It mainly records the color of pewter. This period is the best period for seed collection and fruit viewing.
(2) In the shedding period, white wax begins to fall off the tree until most of the white wax leaves the tree body and falls off. At this time, record the cracking and shedding of white wax.
Autumn leaf discoloration period
As the temperature drops in autumn, chlorophyll is destroyed and disintegrated and cannot be re-formed. Lutein and carotene are not easily destroyed. At the same time, due to the formation of anthocyanins, the leaves change from green to yellow or red. This process is called autumn. Leaf discoloration period. This is the natural discoloration of ash trees before their normal leaves fall in autumn, and should not be confused with leaf discoloration caused by summer drought and pest damage.
(1) The beginning of color change in autumn leaves When 5% of the leaves of the tree show autumn colors, it is the beginning of color change.
(2) Full color change period of autumn leaves When all leaves on the tree are completely color change, it is the full color change period of autumn leaves.
During this period of observation, the gradual change of leaf color during the color change period of autumn leaves should also be recorded. Through the observation of the color change period of autumn leaves, it is helpful to determine the best time for viewing autumn leaves.
Deciduous period
The deciduous period is the period when ash trees normally shed their leaves in autumn. When the temperature drops in autumn, the leaves change color. At the same time, the base of the petiole produces detached cells, the intercellular layer of detached cells dissolves, and the leaves fall off from the detached layer due to gravity or the impact of wind and rain or external force. . The natural deciduous leaves of evergreen trees are mostly in spring, alternate with new leaves, and there is no obvious deciduous period in appearance.
(1) At the early stage of leaf deciduous, about 5% of the leaves of the tree fell off. It means that ash trees are about to enter dormancy, and all management measures to promote the growth of ash trees should be stopped.
(2) The deciduous period of the whole tree has more than 50% of the leaves fall off.
(3) At the end of leaf fall, 90%-95% of the leaves of the tree have fallen off. This is a suitable time for transplanting ash trees.
(4) Leafless period All leaves on the tree fall off, and the ash tree enters dormancy.
The supplier of Congsheng White Wax said that due to the genetic characteristics of white wax saplings, the organ morphology of each phenological stage has a certain sequence. However, in areas with suitable external conditions, ash trees can grow in all seasons. On the same tree, flowering, fruiting, budding and falling leaves will appear at the same time. For example, the budding and falling leaves of evergreen trees can be seen together, and the flowering and fruiting of wolfberry trees can be seen together. Therefore, the characteristics of phenological observation should be determined according to the tree species.
