The sub can reach a depth of half a kilometer, which is pretty deep when it comes to crewed submarines. But it won't be visiting the wreck of the Titanic.
DubbedProject Neptune, (which already sounds like a name a Bond villain would come up with), Aston Martin has teamed up with up with a Florida-based submersible manufacturer called Triton Submarine LLC. The craft can carry two passengers and a pilot, offering the crew a 360-degree view of their surroundings en route to a secret underwater lair.
"The exterior design of Project Neptune owes a lot to the pursuit of performance," said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin EVP and Chief Creative Officer. "As with the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the hyper-car we are developing with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, we have afforded as much attention to the hydrodynamics of the underside as we have the visible surfaces. Some of that detail may never be seen, but its effect will certainly be felt."

THE CARS FEATURED IN THE JAMES BOND FILM 'SPECTRE'
By now we're sure everyone has seen "Spectre" (which was not renamed "Specter" for the North American release, contrary to expectations) so we can freely talk about everything ...
子能达到的深度500米,nd has a top speed of 5 knots. That doesn't sound too fast, but you preferably want Mr. Bond to see you from the shore, while you smile and wave him goodbye. If he doesn't see you, the getaway kind of loses its appeal.
"Project Neptune’s interior was a great challenge," Reichmann added. "Unlike a sports car where the interiors are installed into an open-sided cabin before the doors are fitted, everything you see inside will be lowered through the upper-hatch and assembled within the completed sphere of the pressure hull. We have been able to present a congruous aesthetic that defies its multipart complex installation."
The statistic that impresses us the most about this submersible is the 500-meter depth; the military subs you see in movies don't usually venture beyond 250 meters. In fact, 500 meters is pretty much the limit for most nuclear subs in operation today, and most of them don't make a habit of operating at those depths.
The interior of the sub appears pretty luxurious, but does not come with a white cat that the owner can stroke.

CELEBRATE 70 YEARS OF DB-BADGED ASTON MARTIN CARS
This month Aston Martin is celebrating 70 years of the DB line -- named for British industrialist David Brown, who took over the company in 1947. Today Brown is credited with revitalizing the ...
"The work we have done together on the exterior of the submersible pleases me most," said John Ramsay, chief technical officer at Triton Submarines. "I’m particularly proud of our joint development of the acrylic canopy and iridium coating. The prototypes look incredible, being simultaneously functional and beautiful."
The price? Budget around $4 million for this sub. Customization options for the sub's interior and exterior will be offered byAston Martin's Q division.
This isn't Aston's first marine project, as just last year the automaker offered a 37-foot powerboat dubbed the AM37; also something for which Bond villains could be in the market. In fact, sometimes it seems like there is no shortage of transportation choices for Bond villains these days.
