The difference between float glass and ordinary glass:
The differences between flat glass and float glass are as follows:
1: Both ordinary flat glass and float glass are flat glass. It's just different in production technology and quality. Ordinary flat glass is made of quartz sandstone powder, silica sand, potassium fossils, soda, mirabilite and other raw materials in a certain proportion. It is melted at high temperature in a furnace and produced by vertical pull-up method, flat drawing method and calendering method. Ordinary flat glass can be divided into three categories according to its appearance quality: special selection, first-class products and second-class products. According to thickness, it can be divided into five types: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm.
2: Floating glass is made of sea sand, quartz sandstone powder, soda ash, dolomite and other raw materials in a certain proportion. It is melted at high temperature in a melting furnace. The liquid glass flows continuously from the tank kiln to the metal surface and is spread out into glass with uniform thickness and polished by fire.
Glass ribbon, after cooling and hardening, is separated from liquid metal, and then annealed and cut into transparent colorless flat glass. The surface of glass is very smooth, the thickness is very uniform, and the optical distortion is very small. Float glass can be divided into three categories according to its appearance quality: first-class product, qualified product. According to the thickness, it can be divided into 9 kinds: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 and 19 mm.
3: The appearance quality grade of ordinary flat glass is determined by the number of defects such as ribs, bubbles, scratches, sand grains, keloids, lines and so on. The appearance quality grade of float glass is determined by the number of defects such as optical deformation, bubbles, inclusions, scratches, lines and fog spots.
4: Ordinary glass, emerald green, fragile, low transparency, easy to aging and deformation under rain and sun. Float glass and transparent float glass are made of glass paste which is controlled by gate into tin trough. Because of gravity and surface tension, it floats on the molten tin surface and then enters the Xu cooling trough, making both sides of the glass smooth and even, and the ripple disappears. Dark green, smooth surface without ripple, good perspective, with a certain degree of toughness.
5: Float glass is different from ordinary glass in production process. Its surface is hard, smooth and flat. Float glass has different color from ordinary glass in side view. It is white and has no distortion after reflecting light, but it usually has water-mark deformation.
